My name is Tina Shahara Rahman
I’m founder and CEO of HR Habitat.
I've had a thousand new followers in the last 6 months, so an intro is due.
I started my consultancy after experiencing discrimination on grounds of sex twice in my life. (I share my stories all the time, so keep an eye out for more posts on this).
Surprisingly, in the first situation, my boss was a narcissist. The second scenario my bosses were… well, lovely.
And that’s when I knew, “nice” leaders are more risky to a company than those who understand the intricacies of employment law and gender biases.
And gender biases are often hidden. Enter, HR Habitat.

I love to read self development and business/entrepreneurship books. I am currently reading Oversubscribed by Daniel Priestley. If anyone has any other recommendations, please send them my way!
I love travelling with my family and aim to visit as many countries with them as we can.
My most dearest value is my religion - I’m a proud Muslim.
And fun fact, I only started to wear the hijab (headscarf) from 31 Jan 2025, so it’s been at least 6 months. Best decision ever!
I love wearing suits and have a growing collection. If there's an occasion to dress up for, I'll likely be dressed in a suit.
I’m very chatty, have a lot to say a lot of the times. I enjoy meeting new people and making meaningful connections.
My goal in life?
We're working towards dismantling the gender biases that live within us, in our minds, our homes and in the workplaces to make the world equitable (not equal) for women AND men.
We know men can face sex discrimination too, and we all musn't be afraid to address hidden gender biases in the workplace that affects men too.
One post, one speaker event, one webinar at a time, I'm going to enable leaders and employers to implement HR led gender equity initiatives in all areas of people management, from hiring, promotion, performance processes and everything in between.
